falling to pieces

what do you do when some you care about shuts you out of their the life with no explanation? someone who you thought would never treat you with such coldness and disinterest?

all i can say is it hurts. a lot.

i'm really tired of choosing the wrong people or the wrong people choosing me. how do i change that? i'm tired of falling for the guy who is unavailable - mentally and emotionally or not being even remotely interested in the person who has fallen for me. such an age old cliche of always wanting what you can't have and never wanting what is there for the taking. i hate hurting people and getting hurt, not like anyone really does though. i need to learn to not jump into things headfirst but it is really hard for me not to be passionate about love. ugh.

i hope 2010 brings me a healthy, happy relationship. i'm gonna try to figure out how i can manifest such a thing. in the meantime, i hope my heart bounces back quickly.

bah humbug

i found a few old christmas related photos. the first one is of my mom and aunt. the rest are of me. fuck, i'm old. notice my sweet barbie stuff in the first photo and in the last photo where my dad is helping me put together some strawberry shortcake toy, feast your eyes on my sesame street fever record which i still have.
on a side note - i have no idea how to use blogger. i'm trying to type after each image but it keeps getting screwed up. if anyone can give me tips, please do.

art............

last fall, over a year ago, i volunteered to work the phoebe washburn show at zach feuer titled tickle the shitstem

here's a excerpt  from the press release (because i'm too lazy to write my own synopsis of the show):

Zach Feuer Gallery is pleased to announce a site-specific installation, Tickle the Shitstem, by Phoebe Washburn that will be on view from August 19 through October 4, 2008.  This is Washburn’s third solo exhibition with the gallery.

Phoebe Washburn's work explores generative systems based on absurd patterns of production.  InTickle the Shitstem, Washburn has developed a system/environment in which production and waste are equally important.  The Shitstem generates its own products along with the inevitable byproducts or waste, and at times, there is little or no distinction between the two.  The installation simply keeps churning, producing and hemorrhaging cyclically unless it is interrupted by a failure.  Products ofTickle the Shitstem include beverages, pencils, colored urchins and t-shirt

anyways, the exhibition had an actual "storefront" where we sold drinks, custom made t-shirts, pencils, and hand-dyed sea urchins which is why the gallery needed volunteers to work  the store. here are a few photos i took from the show.

this is my last muppets post.....

i swear.

but you have to click on the link because i wasn't able to embed video. please please please follow the link because this video is AWESOME!!!

don't take your ones to town

speaking of muppets.....

where the fuck was this guy when i was a kid because he is amazing and creepy and weird!

what?

the other night at work, the song lola by the kinks came on, prompting a conversation regarding the song's storyline (boy falls for girl who is really a boy) which then lead to a conversation about barry manilow's copacabana which reminded me of an episode of the muppets where liza minnelli peforms the song. wow, that was a long sentence. anyhoo, here's that video:

while i was searching for the liza/muppets footage, i came across several other copacabana video montages. one in particular stood out, probably because i
have the worst sense of humor in the world:
>

the image of the lost love flyers really caught my eye in the above video. i'm pretty much a dorky hopeless romantic and for some lame reason, i find unrequited love
endearing while most others find it pathetic and sad. i tried to find more lost love flyer images on the internet but mainly found a variety of lost "something"
flyers instead. i know others have done posts regarding these flyers and i also have seen many blogs post the picture of the"have you seen this cat because it is
awesome" flyer and the scared cat/possum flyer so i skipped those two but here are the ones that made me giggle. once again, my sense of humor sucks so you might find them annoying.
