take back your picture in a frame....

after reading a dlisted post on naomi campbell, i thought of this herb ritts' photo of her from 1990. this is still one of my all time favorite photographs in the world. i was slightly obsessed with it in highschool.

i had completely forgotten about his work even though i was huge fan of it in the nineties. he's taken some of my favorite photographs of madonna and some of my favorite photos in general. he was such a talented artist and being the dingbat that i am, i had completely forgotten he died almost 8 years ago from AIDS related complications. so sad, still seems like a terrible loss but his legacy lives on through his gorgeous photos.

so excited for tonight's show. was obsessed with matt pike and sleep in high school. he grew up in golden, co and i met him through his old colorado friends my senior year of high school. never got to see sleep play live so i get to relive my youth again this evening. can't fucking wait.
